Recommended Aquatic Plants

On the understanding that you wish your natural swimming pond to blend quietly into its position in the middle of your field, we agreed that the best aquatic planting scheme would be 'colour neutral'. Therefore, we will concentrate on reeds (flowering rush and sweet gallingale) to be responsible for cleaning the water (together with some oxygenating spiked milfoil), though you may like to add a few water lilies (to follow part of the edge of the swim zone), and perhaps some dropwort too (in a couple of spots along the pond edge).
Please see blow.
